  • Afternoon Holiday Hike in Schooley Mill Park - Featuring Woodlands, Wetlands, and Meadows! A Newbie Friendly and Easy 4 Mile Hike

Schooley Mill Park offers a variety of habitats including woodlands, wetlands, a sediment pond, secondary growth areas, and meadows. The meadows are kept in a natural state to provide food, cover, and nest sites for area wildlife. There is a lot of lush shrubbery for bird habitat and underbrush along the trail for the areas small mammals.

This hidden gem is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. Peer into the stream to see minnows, crayfish, frogs, and turtles. The 4.6 miles of trails with rolling hills provide an excellent way to discover the natural side of Schooley Mill Park. Just about half of our hike plan's route takes us through the woodlands on crushed rock/dirt trails. The other half is through the beautiful meadow/grassland area along well-maintained grassy trails.
