Patapsco Valley State Park Hike: Pickall Area Trails! A Moderate 6-7 Miles with Post Hike Meal
This hike is a lollipop hike with a rather short stick. It is the fifth of 10 interconnected hikes that follow the Patapsco River from Gun Road in the Glen Artney area of the park to Liberty Dam in Carroll County. With a distance of about 10 miles (as the crow flies -- if the crow walks, it's significantly longer), our route starts off near Daniels historic area and then passes downstream through remote sections of the park to US-40.
All stream crossings are normally very easy, and there is a welcome diversity in the area including flat and hilly sections but no long, hard uphill slogs.
