Hike DC Series (Hike 8): The White House Area! An Easy and Flat 4-Mile Social Hike (Begins and Terminates at the Same Metro Stop)

There many ways to see cities, but for anyone desiring a sense of the history and the character of an urban place, the city is best seen on foot." Though Washington D.C. is only 220 years old, it has a remarkable number of historic buildings, lands, and residences. Our White House hike passes around the White House and other interesting sites in the vicinity.

Hike Pace
This hike will be led at ~2.5 mph. This pace is frequently used in popular hiking publications to represent the pace of an average hiker and is not a fast, but rather social and nature enjoyment pace (but not a stroll as it is a hike). We welcome you to please sign up for another hike if you know that this is not a comfortable pace for you. We strive to offer a variety of hikes led at different paces so we can always have something for everyone no matter their interest and/or ability.
