Greenbelt Park! An Easy and Very Scenic/Newbie-Friendly 5.3-Mile Hike
Located a dozen miles northeast of the White House, Greenbelt Park ranks as the second largest nature preserve (after Rock Creek Park) within the Capital Beltway. Covering 1,100 acres, it nestles amid a grid of major highways and suburban streets. Most of it remains undeveloped, so it’s also an attractive—if little used—hiking locale. We strive to offer a variety of hikes and pace options so we can always have something for everyone no matter their interest and ability.
