Patapsco Valley State Park Hike: Hollofield Area Trails! A Moderate 5 Miles with Post Hike Meal
This hike is the fifth of nine hikes that follow the Patapsco River from Gun Road in the south to Liberty Dam in Carroll County. Our route today explores the Hollofield section on US-40 (park headquarters). We'll go down to the river to the site of the now-removed Union Dam, then explore some trails leading upstream before returning to our cars.

The goal for this hike is to maintain an average moving pace of ~ 2.5 mph. This speed is frequently used in popular hiking publications to represent the pace of an average hiker. We strive to offer a variety of hikes and pace options so we can always have something for everyone no matter their interest and ability.
