Tuesday Evening Hike to See DC Waterfront! An Easy 3-4.5 Mile Sneaker Hike to Enjoy the DC Wharf District, Fish Market, Titantic Memorial, and More!

Plenty to see in Southwest DC – the all-new DC District Wharf along Washington Channel by the Tidal Basin, complete with piers, memorials, marinas, stores along the waterfront, the old fish market (still in business!), and many other interesting sites such as the Earth Day Park, Box Car Willie Park, the Southwest Duck Pond, and the Titanic Memorial!

Distance Options

The expected distance is about 3 to 4.5 miles, with options to do a shorter distance of about 3 miles if you want to stop at the Wharf and take a free shuttle bus back to a Metro station, or 4.5 miles to continue walking back to our starting point at Smithsonian Metro station.

MAHG volunteers and members are very supportive, encouraging, with a focus on safety while enjoying the excellent camaraderie and benefiting from the many health benefits of hiking and unplugging from the stress of day-to-day life.
