Come along and play
If you're new to the group, the general idea is that we try to get some idea of what we can play before we get together. To give new members a general idea of level, we tend to play standard chamber music repertoire, often sight-reading music that members bring along (we don't often get the chance to work out what we'll play in advance, so prior practise isn't usually feasible!). Recent things we've had a go at (with varying degrees of success!): Brahms: Piano Quintet, and 1st Piano Quartet Beethoven: 1st Piano Trio Schubert: Death and the Maiden Quartet. N.B. if you're a pianist, being able to sight-read reasonably well is a must!

What we're about

Want to meet amateur classical musicians, play some tunes and have fun? Pianists, violinists et al, let's get together! We have a range of levels in the group, but decent sight-reading skills are pretty important, because we often just play something one of our members brings along that afternoon
. This is very much a forum for meeting other musicians -please do post suggested meetups if you want. The current venue for meetups is in Kensington- the idea being we share music ideas before hand, bring different options along on the day and split into two groups depending on numbers. For this reason, numbers may be restricted.at each meet up to make playing fun and worthwhile. Some of us are actively looking for an additional venue, in another part of town. Please get in touch if you know of other possible-cheap!-venues.
