This class is the second vegetarian follow-up to the January class on chicken curry. As before, we will prepare, cook, and eat some tasty Indian food. And throughout, you will have the opportunity to fully participate in the action! The menu will consist of palak paneer (spinach with Indian cheese), chickpeas & potato stew, basmati rice, and Indian naan bread. And with the exception of the paneer cheese in one dish, the menu is almost entirely vegan! The only thing processed is the dried spices, yogurt, and chopped tomatoes – everything else will be as fresh as possible.
By the end of the class you will:
• Cook a delicious and healthy vegetarian meal of Indian food
• Prepare basmati rice
• Roll out and bake the dough for fresh naan bread, with and without garlic
• Combine the variety of spices needed for both dishes (chickpea-potato stew & palak paneer)
• Go home with a copy of the recipe, some dried rice, and enough of the spice mixture for you to try cooking both dishes at home
Come and join me for a family-style lunch of naan, chickpea & potato stew, and palak paneer w/ rice that you made yourself!
