The cities of Millersville and Goodlettsville along with the Stream Watch Committee are hosting a Tree Planting Event that will be held along Slaters Creek in Millersville. A community-wide stream clean-up event will be held the same day with multiple staging locations in both Millersville and Goodlettsville.
Dibble bars for planting, gloves, bags, T shirts, snacks, certificates and the opportunity to help make a difference in your local community and watershed will all be provided. Be sure to wear boots if you intend to get in the stream.
Your community's stormwater departments are working together with Stream Watch and local volunteers, such as yourself, to provide bank stabilization and shade to Slaters Creek by planting 150 trees. There will also be an opportunity to clean up and maintain Slaters Creek, Mansker Cree and Dry Creek through this clean-up event. These creeks are impaired urban streams that are in need of community action.
