Commit to regular attendance, for your own benefit and that of the community you live in!
Here is what you can expect at this gathering:
At the beginning of the group we introduce ourselves and check in with each other, sharing what we are bringing to the pillow, if we wish. Then we sit in a 30 minutes' silent meditation, preceded by instructions, if needed. These are standard instructions of traditional breath-focused practice, which is the main type of mindfulness meditation that has gained wide consensus in health care.
After the silent meditation we engage in other mindfulness-based techniques, including body scans, mindful yoga, seated or standing up, mindful walking and other types of mindful exercises. "Yoking" (yoga) mind and body is a main focus at our groups.
After the mindful activity we check-in again and share of our experience with the practice, after which we peacefully part.
This is a donation-based group. Suggested donations are 5 to 25 dollars. Donate what you can. Please bring your gift to the group when you come in.
