STSP: Sloans Lake Evening Walk

Sloan's Lake Park is located on the northwest side of Denver next to Lakewood, Edgewater, and Wheat Ridge. In the mid to late 19th century, Sloan's Lake was actually a thoroughfare called South Golden Road connecting Denver to Golden. In 1866, Thomas F. Sloan accidentally unearthed the lake while digging for a well. Over a century and a half later, Sloan's Lake offers 177 acres of public park where residents can participate in an array of activities including hiking, jogging, biking trails which surround the lake. The lake itself hosts many activities including paddle boarding, fishing, boating, and water skiing.

Come join Walk2Connect every Tuesday at 6pm to explore Sloan's Lake and meet your neighbors. This a relaxed casual walk which follows the paved walking path around Sloan's Lake. Bring your flashlights!

Your Trip Host: Morgan Brittany Russo is an enthusiastic Associate Broker at 1858 Real Estate who is also a proud resident of Sloan's Lake. You may find Morgan walking or running around park in her signature green hat. Don't hesitate to say hi!

Schedule & Meeting Location: We will meet at 6:00 pm in front of the bathroom facilities across from Wolff St and W Byron Pl. In case you need to use the restroom, please plan to arrive before 6:00pm as we will leave no later than 6:00pm. We should be done walking no later than 7:15pm. You can of course leave early if you need to.

Parking: There will be plenty of parking throughout the neighborhood and at the Sloan's Lake Park parking.

Dog Friendly! We will be doing a loop going back to our starting location. (Please be sure you are confident your dog can handle 2-3 miles in a variety of weather conditions and that your dog is calm, well behaved. Your dog MUST stay leashed and please bring baggies.) As much as love your furry friends the home tour portion of the walk is not pet friendly :-)

Breaks, Restrooms: The bathrooms may not be open, so please try and go before you come to the walk.

Weather: Due to varying weather conditions, please come prepared with enough layers and/or waterproof gear to keep yourself comfortable during the walk.

Cancellation Policy: We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path, such as ice, hail, or lightening. Check Meetup or text the walk leader for the most up-to-date conditions.
