There’s a lot of hype about mindfulness meditation in the media today, but what exactly is it ?

Mindfulness means noticing our moment-to-moment experience with curiosity and clarity. According to the latest neuroscience research, a regular meditation practice can help increase focus and calm in everyday life. Sounds simple, right ?

But real life can be messy, complicated, or worse. And sometimes a "wellness" band-aid just doesn't cut it.

At Millennial Mindfulness, we meet to investigate real challenges together, exploring questions in human psychology and clinical neuroscience. Train your mind, use your voice, and destress with Millennial Mindfulness, hope to see you soon !


About Sam: My journey with meditation began after a friend showed me the app Headspace. I gave it a try, and after a few months of meditating I started noticing real benefits in my own life -- from better focus to reduced stress. Mindfulness became an integral part of my personal and professional life, and today I work as a mindfulness and self-compassion consultant for teams, hospitals, and organizations.

As a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher (MMT), I have trained in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Vispassana (Insight) Meditation, and I completed teacher training for Mindful Self-Compassion through the University of California San Diego Center for Mindfulness. At Boston University, I studied neuroscience with a focus in neuropsychology, and as a consultant I enjoy integrating the latest from science into my work.

In addition to training individuals and teams, I consult on a Harvard-affiliated research study at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. I'm also working on a project that combines mindfulness and the music making process. We'll have a guided meditation session, then explore questions in consciousness and neuroscience together, all while enjoying the pretty scenery.
