UPDATE: Sunday April 23 forecast is for cloudy and cool, but it looks like the wet stuff will fall in early morning and late evening.

The event has already been postponed once and will go ahead 'rain or snow' but with a modified route on paved paths only. Be prepared -- lube your chain, dress for the weather, fill your bottle with something warm--and we'll have a good ride.

We meet at the Leduc Reservoir parking lot, located off 50 Avenue, just east of the QE2 overpass. Note that if you are coming west on 50th Ave, there is no left turn onto Reservoir Road to reach this lot. Turn around in Leduc Common and come back on 50th going east. You can also approach from Black Gold Drive and go north on Reservoir Road.

This is planned as a novice ride -- casual, slow, short, and easy, for legs and butts made soft by winter. We'll be following the paved Multi-ways around the west side of the Reservoir, to Black Gold Drive and east to the Black Gold Recreation Centre. After this level 4 km stretch, we'll make a pit stop for those who need it, or you can just stay there and dry out and schmooze if the weather's really lousy.

From BGRC we'll do the south side of Telford Lake; loop back to a stop at the Peace Park; tour the Leduc Lions Campground if weather permits and riders want; then swing back to the Rec Centre where we can stop to refresh, warm up, dry out, etc. It's a short jaunt (4.1 km) back to our vehicles via Black Gold Drive or 50th Avenue.

Fill up your water bottles, and bring a camera, the park is very nice and we will have a great time. Things to see: The Birds at the Lake and Reservoir; maybe some rose buds in the Peace Park; a great view of the north shore of the lake with the historic church in the foreground.

SPECIAL NOTE: We can transport up to five (5) bicyclse and provide rides to five member (including driver). For those wanting to come, meet at: Circuit Cycle & Sports (5016 - 50 Avenue, Millet, AB.)

Total Distance: 8 - 12 km
Total Time: 1 - 3 Hours in the saddle, depending on weather and what people want to do
