New Moon Gong: with Guruatma Kaur

What to expect: Preparing ourselves with a Kundalini Yoga set we will create a body-mind balance for change and healing. While in this state the sound waves of the gong and bowls induce an extended state of effortless meditation and relaxation that facilitates the movement of prana through the body and psyche for healing. In this way, the gong is a tool that magnifies and focuses the power of the yoga experience.

We will finish with tea, treats, and joy!

Please bring a thick blanket or cushion to lie on and a shawl to cover with!

“The Gong is the first and last instrument for the human mind, there is only one thing that can supersede and command the human mind, the sound of the Gong. It is the first sound in the Universe, the sound that created the Universe. It’s the basic creative sound. To the mind, the sound of the gong is like a mother and father that gave it birth. The mind has no power to resist a gong that is well played.”  -Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga

Yoga & Gong: Guruatma Kaur: An IKYTA certified teacher and devoted student of Yogi Bhajan, Guruatma Kaur has been enthusiastically teaching Kundalini Yoga since 1979. She is lovingly dedicated to encouraging clarity, excellence, and relaxation into one’s True Self.

Gong:  Dharam Singh began an exploration of sound as a saxophonist and flutist in the Bronx, NYC - an environment immersed in the rich music and culture of Africa by way of the Caribbean, Boriqua, African American and the counter culture, which gave him a multicultural perspective on musical language.   His passion for the transformative power of sound and music has found a place in the use of the Gong as he came to develop a unifying aural language that removes the separation between Head and Heart, Body and Soul. It is these frequencies, tones and harmonics, already given by Nature that he simply lives to share.  Dharam is a long time student of Yogi Bhajan and a resident of Guru Ram Das Ashram, where he is the go-to guy for anything related to Gong Yoga, including buying one - He is part of the 'three-some' that leads the monthly Full Moon Gong event

Meditation: Siri Tapa Kaur, a Reiki Master, Sat Nam Rasayan Practitioner, and certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher lives a life committed to being healthy, happy, and available to all. Everyone who knows her is touched by her open-hearted, compassionate mother energy.
