Getting Started with IoT using Azure, Windows IoT and Raspberry Pi

Chris Pietschmann will be giving a presentation on building IoT solutions in the cloud using Microsoft Azure and IoT Hub. No IoT solution is complete without hardware so he will be using Windows IoT Core on a Raspberry Pi 3 to read from sensors and send that data to the cloud. This presentation will cover what you need to get started building IoT solutions using the Microsoft Azure platform.

Chris works as a Senior Cloud Solution Architect at Opsgility where he develops and delivers training to assist teams in building and maintaining their own solutions in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. He has 15 years of experience building and designing enterprise systems, and has been building cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure since it's initial general availability in 2010.

Centare will be providing their comfy meeting area, along with pizza and drinks.

I agree with you Dustin. I thought Chris did a great job of demonstrating the use of Azure Services to accomplish tasks that are typical of many IoT applications. The venue for the meeting was great. Thanks to Centare for their hospitality!

That was really useful. As an Azure noob, I liked seeing how to put together applications using the various services.
