Lothlorian Nature Sanctuary ***Elf Fest

Join in on the Memorial Weekend Drum Campout

Saturday, May 25, 2009 thru May 31. Come for however many days you can.

Go to their website to register.

I have been going to Lothlorian for 16 years, and it has always been a great place to drum. It is on 109 acres in the rolling hills of southern Indiana. They have a large drumming dome and a well tended bonfire. Many camping areas have fire circles as well. Bring your own food or avail yourself of the fare at the cafe. Hot showers on site.

The camp atmosphere is truly magical!

Please peruse their website for related information about this beautiful wooded nature preserve and ELF Fest. You can attend for as many or as few days as you wish.

Several of my drum students have attended in recent years, and I'm sure they would be willing to share their impressions with you. Get a discussion going. Kids love this place and it is a fun time for all.

You will need to go to the website to arrange for your camping fees and such, and there is a discount for registering early. Travel time is about 6 hours from Milwaukee, 343 miles. Indy is 4 1/2 hours on a good day.

You will find a map link on their website.

I prefer to get there on Thursday.
It is also good to arrive early and depart Sunday if you need Monday to recover. Mondays there are quiet, as many do depart Sunday.

It's a bit of a drive, but well worth the time.

Thanks, Glenn
