Milwaukee Outdoor Adventures Meetup (MOAM) is for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether you work 9-5 in a cubicle with no windows, want to throw on the cross country skis for a quick outing, or just plan to see more of Milwaukee's and the surrounding area’s wide open spaces for any reason whatsoever, this is the group for you. Some of the events you’ll see most often here are hiking, urban walks, camping, and biking. But if you love cross country skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, bouldering, rock climbing, sailing, picnics, and more—feel free to check out our site.
Please see my cell phone disclaimer near the bottom of this page.
My hope is that you, like me, find time in the outdoors and in nature not only relaxing, but maybe even rejuvenating, refreshing, and restorative to the soul. It makes facing all of life’s responsibilities a little bit easier. That time can be even more fulfilling when spent in the company of other like-minded people, sharing a laugh and common experience in nature and the outdoors. If any of that sounds like you, then MOAM is for you!
All ages (adults only, please) and relationship statuses are welcome—young, old, mature, married, single, and divorced—it doesn’t matter. Just bring a willingness to participate, and above all—have fun!
If there is an activity you enjoy and would like to share with others, this group is for you! Members are encouraged to post their own events by becoming an Event Organizer. If this is something you would like to do, just get in touch with me. It’s not hard. Then there is no no need to get anyone's approval, or get anyone else to RSVP in order for the group to see your event. Consider hosting an event especially if you don’t see many events in your area. Milwaukee is a huge city, with nature and outdoors lovers from Kenosha to Door County and beyond. Chances are that there is someone near you who would love to join you on an outing.
Be sure to take a "stroll" through the "Pages" section to learn lots more very appropriate information for our users.
As organizer, I want nothing more for my members than your safety. As an ongoing part of that concern, all members are required to have a head shot on their profile where their face is clearly visible. This also has the added benefit of allowing the event organizers to recognize and greet all who attend our events. Thank you for complying with this policy.
This site is under construction, and content may change and evolve over time.
There are no required dues! Donations or contributions are gratefully accepted, and go completely to pay what Meetup charges to maintain the web site. If there is any money collected in excess of Meetup’s fees, it will be returned to the members in the form of a picnic, party, park passes, or other method beneficial to the members. There is more information under the Pages menu.
Let’s get out and enjoy all the great outdoor venues and activities that Wisconsin has to offer!
Your humble trail guide and organizer,
PS--I don't have a cell phone, but am happy to answer questions--particularly about directions--if you email me directly through Meetup. It's best to do so early in the week, to allow time for informtaion exchange. Thank you.
