Because the first Saturday of the month falls on a holiday weekend, our meetup will be held on the second Saturday, January 8th at Hue Restaurant and Lounge in Bay View. Whether you are a long-time vegan who wants to try a new place or a new vegan, curious, or just willing to try, you will not want to miss this awesome dining experience.

Kim Fisher-Isaacs says... Hue - pronounced Hway, as in the Vietnamese city – is now open at 2691 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., formerly Magic Dann's. Partners Carina Tran and Mark V. Nielsen have created a modern, comfortable 50-seat restaurant in the heart of Bay View. The wonderful food they prepare introduces customers to the richness of Vietnamese culture through the many traditional dishes Tran’s immigrant mother still prepares at home. There are numerous vegan options including veggie ‘meat’ appetizers, pho, noodle and rice dishes. You will not leave disappointed.

Central Vietnam is home to some of the country's most elegant and complex cuisines. Once the royal capital of Vietnam, the city of Hue and its nearby hills are recognized for its spicy, ornate, and often labor-intensive mix of flavors. Often known only to natives of Vietnam, the exquisite flavors of the traditional dishes from this region are not typically found anywhere else.

At Hue, they realize that ethnic restaurants can sometimes be intimidating if you are not already familiar with the spices and preparation methods of that culture. So whether this is your first experience or you are familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, their concept is to promote and introduce the herbs, spices, and fragrant aromas of dishes from Central Vietnam in a friendly and modern environment.
