Please join us for a special evening meetup at Maxie’s Southern Comfort, in Wauwatosa. Whether you are a long-time vegan who wants to try a new place or a new vegan, curious, or just willing to try, you will not want to miss this awesome dining experience.

Kim Fisher-Isaacs says... Maxie's Southern Comfort is a long time vegan favorite, serving Southern inspired “from-scratch” cooking including the “Low Country” cooking of the Carolinas, Creole and Cajun cooking of Louisiana, traditional slow-smoked southern barbeque, and southern comfort cooking of all kinds. Owner Dan Sidner and crew have made accommodations for vegetarians and vegans who can choose from delicacies including a vegan jambalaya and a dry rubbed and smoked tofu that will make even the staunchest of diners salivate. The portabella po’boy, sweet potato fries and fried green tomatoes are to die for and the chef is prepared to whip up a vegan remoulade to complete the meal.

Sidner and his team spared no expense in converting the former Gerry O'Brien's grocery shop into a breathtakingly gorgeous restaurant where Southern brothel meets uptown elegance. Chandeliers, staircases and blood red walls coupled with violet and black-ceiling beams would make Scarlet O'Hara proud, The bar offers a hand picked selection of quality wines, micro-brewed and imported beers, and top-shelf liquors.
