Why Mindfulness? Mindfulness practice has lasted more than 2,500 years for one simple reason: Because it works. The research (now spans nearly 40 years) shows that these practices impact our minds and bodies to reduce the stress we all experience. These practices change the relationship we have to the challenges life presents. This group's purpose is to familiarize participants with the practices in the evidence-based curriculum Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from an MBSR teacher certified through the credentialed institutions to train MBSR teachers.

What is Mindfulness? Awareness that arises by paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgmentally. ... and in the service of cultivating wisdom and compassion. Join us and learn how to connect your mind and body to be mindful and present for your life, whatever presents or unfolds. Here you can learn how to build mindfulness practice not only on the "cushion" but throughout every moment of your life.

Our meeting times vary, as well as the activities we will engage with, to explore ways to build mindfulness into the ways we relate to our whole lives. My training to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) includes training through the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness (CFM), Oasis Institute, Mindfulness-Based Professional Education and Training, and the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. Individual advanced mentorship and MBSR Teacher Certification obtained through Brown University.

My credentials also includes Wellness Coach training through the Mayo Clinic and am available to help you with your individual wellness goals, and building and sustaining your mindfulness practice.
