Alma Ball is a Fresno native. She has been a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) for over 10 years. As a CMT, Alma enjoys using her skills to bring health and wellness to others. It is her belief that our bodies have the natural ability to heal and bring balance to body, mind and spirit. The goal of any body modality is to assist the client’s own natural healing abilities. She looks at herself not as a healer, but as a facilitator of the bodies’ own miraculous ability to self-heal.
Massage Therapy & Bodywork Treatments:
CranioSacral Therapy for basic balancing
CranioSacral Therapy is a soft touch modality; no more than the weight of a nickel is used to first engage the tissue. Delicate manual techniques are then used to release restrictions up/down the spine, cranium and sacrum.
CranioSacral Therapy with Dialogue and Somatoe Emotional Release
The techniques utilized in this session get to the deeper root of the problem by dialoguing with “Your Inner Physician” and the body. The goal is to find the core issue of pain, sickness, emotional trauma and patterns that can reside in the body, mind and spirit. The techniques are geared toward helping the client find their own inner healing and inner wisdom.
Myofascial Release is “the movement of contractile or inert tissues in such a way as to effect change in that structure or its related elements. The assessment and treatment are directed at soft tissues with the techniques being active, passive, or both, and may or may not include bone motion. The effect of this treatment may be demonstrated in a change in the targeted soft tissues, the articular structures, neural system, or vascular system.
Shiatsu Therapy is a manual technique known as “One Point” or “Finger Pressure,” which is applied through specific points on the body known as tsubos, which eliminate fatigue and stimulate the body’s self-curative abilities.
Swedish Massage Therapy
Swedish Massage is the distillation of ancient Chinese techniques that were observed and studied by a French doctor who traveled to China in the 16th Century. It consists of five basic techniques: effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement and vibration.
Reflexology is the rhythmic process of working on the hands and feet. The feet are worked on first by the therapist. The therapist’s rhythm creates a relaxing atmosphere. Then hands are worked on too.
Hot Stone Massage Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy was practiced by Tibetan monks and American Indians. Deeper levels of relaxation can be achieved by placing or moving heated stones over the skin to increase circulation, relax muscles, and soothe the mind.
Crystals can balance the body, mind and spirit through their energetic frequency. All crystals do is vibrate. Crystals are placed on or around the body to balance the body's own vibration. Our body's energy field is constantly effected due to the changing energy fields around us. We do not maintain a constant frequency because of our emotions, stress and the environment. Continued disharmony can lead to disease with in our body. However crystals maintain a constant frequency because of their perfect geometric shape. Crystals can be used to bring the body, mind and spirit back into balance.
Reiki is a Japanese form of healing and energy balancing that has its roots in Tibetan energy work. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word representing universal life energy. It is derived from rei, meaning “universal life energy.” Reiki works on the physical, spiritual, and emotional levels of aliments. Reiki involves the transfer of universal life energy through the practitioner to the client in order to enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself through balancing of energy.
Sound Therapy with the use of a tuning fork can use sound and vibration to bring the body back into balance. We can use sound and vibration to enhance the nutrition of food and water, remove negative and stagnant energy in the body or in one's surroundings, relieve pain and even stop bone loss. Benefits from sound therapy session include better sleep, lower blood pressure, increased circulation, release of tension and stress, better digestion and elimination, relief of respiratory problems and clears congestion in the head.
