Join Mindful Astoria for a weekend of Meditation, Yoga, Hiking and Community Building at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s (AMC) Harriman Outdoor Center located on a beautiful Breakneck Pond in the heart of Harriman State Park only an hour away from New York City.

This retreat will:

Help you slow down and connect deeper with the natural world in a peaceful and serene setting
Help cultivate a loving caring community by connecting with like minded people
Help deepen your meditation practice


You must have attended at least 3 Wednesday Mindful Astoria Meditation prior to attending the Weekend Retreat.


Private 4-bedroom cabin with common area. Each bedroom has 1 set of bunk bed and 2 twin beds. Based on participant request, we can make one or two rooms gender specific. The Central Bathhouse is a few steps away with separate showers for men and women.


Friday night is potluck dinner - please bring a meal to share. All meals on Saturday (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and Sunday breakfast will be provided. If you have food allergies or any other dietary restrictions, we can accommodate your needs.


The $150 retreat fee will cover two nights accommodation, meals mentioned above, all activities and a nominal administrative fee. Fees do not include transportation cost.


Registration for the retreat closes on Wednesday, May 29h.
Once you RSVP on Meetup, you will receive an email with payment information. REGISTRATION FEE is NON-REFUNDABLE. if you are unable to go due to an illness or an emergency, you are welcome to find a substitute.

PLEASE note that if fewer than 14 participants register, we will need to cancel the retreat and your fees will be fully refunded.


You can take NJ transit from Penn Station to Tuxedo Station where AMC shuttle can pick you up for a small fee. If you have a car and would like to offer rides to other participants please let us know.


This is a participatory retreat, we welcome participants (if they wish) to lead some of the activities. If you would like to offer meditation to the group, there will be a session of practice for leaders before the retreat.

To make it a meaningful retreat:

-We ask you to participate fully and be an inspiration for each other.
-No use of electronics/phones unless in case of an emergency.
-No use of alcohol throughout the retreat.
-Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
