Mindful Taipei is a grassroots collective of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures who believe mindfulness can lead to a healthy lifestyle. Through courses, workshops, online promotion, retreats, and humanitarian action, we strive to create an environment for practicing mindfulness daily in an urban setting.
Our courses and workshops are suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners, and include: meditation, qigong, yoga, taiji, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese tea, and daily mindfulness activities (e.g. film watching, eating, calligraphy, etc.). All of these courses and events are taught by qualified instructors with years of experience in both their home countries and Taiwan.
Mindfulness concepts and practices are grounded in Buddhist, Zen, and Taoist meditative teachings. Study opportunities with an experienced and qualified meditation teacher whom we frequently invite to our programs are available for those interested in going deeper into any of of the above subjects. We aim to live and share mindfulness and its power to transform thoughts, habits, and life.
Our current activities in Taipei:
Start your week off right with an inspiring Sunday night! Start…Mindfully* is a weekly Sunday night session. We learn as a community through stillness (meditation), movement (qigong) and workshops (mindful daily activities), applying mindfulness to our lives. Mindfulness Workshops are held on the last Sunday of every month and are part of the Start…Mindfully course. Topics include: cooking, movie watching and calligraphy, and are designed to help improve our ability to apply mindfulness to any activity.
Meditate Taipei is a bi-monthly event for practicing within the city landscape. Join us for group meditations in locations around the city, finding stillness in the urban environment. Sessions are taught by donation and all proceeds are donated to various causes.
Other activities include: brunches, hikes, outings, tea sessions and seasonal festivities (Xmas, thanksgiving, new years, etc.).

*Note: Start...Mindfully is a course designed with members of Taipei’s international community in mind. It is reserved for those who would otherwise have difficulties accessing meditation, qigong or mindfulness courses due to language barriers. We do organize other courses, social activities, humanitarian action events, etc. that are open to all! **Drug free policy: Anyone who is currently using or trafficking illegal drugs during the duration of their studies with Mindful Taipei are ineligible to join Mindful Taipei courses or workshops. This policy is in accordance with Taiwanese Law and also promotes a healthy foundation for mindfulness practice. We reserve the right to refuse participation, if participants are not able to adhere to this policy. Signed understanding and consent is required for all attendees. If at any time, participants change their minds and are unable to commit to abstaining from drug use while studying, they are welcome to join, however they will be asked to discontinue studies if they are unable to maintain abstinence.
