What we're about
*THIS GROUP IS CURRENTLY DORMANT*
Thank you for your interest in Mindful Walking with The Wright Fit, and especially thank you to those who have come along to the walks and shared an hour of mindfulness with me. :)
Mindful Walking is one of many offerings from The Wright Fit - join the mailing list (https://www.facebook.com/thewrightfit/?sk=app%2F100265896690345%2F&app_data) for all the latest info and offers!
This group and the topics of mindfulness and happiness are very important to me. Unfortunately the current format is not working out, as there aren't enough people attending the walks to make them financially viable, so I am closing this group and focusing my attention elsewhere.
To keep abreast of what I’m up to (which may well include mindful walking, in a slightly different format), please sign up to my mailing list (https://www.facebook.com/thewrightfit/?sk=app%2F100265896690345%2F&app_data) where you'll be the first to hear about all the groups and events I organise.
I would be really grateful if you could take a moment to respond to this message and let me know why you joined this Meetup group? Did you find what you were looking for, or if not - what would you have liked to see? Thank you!
This Meetup page will now be dormant until I've finalised my plans for The Wright Fit going forward.
Hope to see you soon,
P.S. If you'd like to stay in touch, hop on the mailing list (https://www.facebook.com/thewrightfit/?sk=app%2F100265896690345%2F&app_data)! :D
Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, in which you visit a forest for relaxation and recreation, is a popular approach to stress-management in Japan. In 1982 the Forest Agency of Japan proposed incorporating regular forest bathing trips into a healthy lifestyle, and since then it's become a well-recognised relaxation activity and/or 'green therapy' for adults and children alike.
The same logic can apply to any other form of nature bathing aka mindful walking, whether it's through a field, along a beach or up a mountain! Join me for a gentle walk through one of Colchester's woodlands, beaches, meadows or other areas of natural beauty as I encourage mindful appreciation of our surroundings and help you to switch off from the frenzy of everyday life and enjoy the peace and tranquillity.
Take some time out to immerse yourself in your environment and soak in the various sights, sounds, smells and sensations offered by nature, led by Madelyn Wright, Healthy Lifestyle Mentor at The Wright Fit (https://thewrightfit.wordpress.com/).
