What interests you about Family Dharma?

Buddhism is wrapped up in a lot of metaphor that helps us understand difficult concepts, and even for an adult it can take a long period of study and reflection to fully grasp some concepts that don't lend themselves readily to our western way of thinking. Trying to teach these same concepts to my son is a daunting challenge that I feel is best accomplished within a community of like-minded parents. I would like him to have a gentler view of others and the world around him by understanding the dharma, and to be able to share this new knowledge and practice with peers.

Hi, my name is Bonnie. I'm a single mom of a sweet six-year-old boy with special needs. I've been studying Buddhism since I was in my teens, and have been attending the sangha meetings at Wesleyan for about four years now.
