The Mindful Photography Meetup Group is led by me, Scott Flora. There is a a brief bio at the bottom of this introduction. The Group became stalled by the Pandemic. As 2021 rolls forward, the Group will meet online and in-person (safely, within guidelines).
Also at the bottom is a list of resources about Mindful Photography. Articles and blog posts will be posted to the Meetup Discussion Board. Photos can be posted to the Mindful Photography Facebook page set up by me.
What is Mindful Photography
Mindful Photography is the process of bringing your attention to the present moment, without judgement or thoughts of the future or the past. Be here now, says author Ram Das.
When photographing mindfully, the experience of being in the present moment is more important than the final product. Photography is the tool to help us stay in the moment and look deeper.
It's a simple concept and, because we are humans, it takes practice to create this experience. In the Mindful Photography Meetup Group, we will work on many ways to be more present when we photograph. I have posted a simple Mindful Photography process on the Discussion Board.
