Buddhist prayers are chanted at the start at finish and then there is SILENT sitting practise (no guidance) broken up by the bell every 20 minutes to give you time to stretch.
This class is suitable for both beginners and more those with some experience of meditation/mindfulness. The guided session will take place in our traditional Buddhist shrine room and will cover various meditation and mindfulness practices.
Our courses in meditation are not aimed at converting people to Buddhism and everybody is welcome to attend, to learn meditation for therapeutic reasons and to overcome the stresses and strains of modern life.
ALL ARE WELCOME. If you haven't done any meditation previously you are welcome to arrive a little early to go through any questions you have such as posture etc.
However, if you would like to make a contribution to the centre's running costs, it will be gratefully received. A donation bowl is inside the room.
**PLEASE ARRIVE A GOOD 5 - 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE EVENT STARTS AS WE INTEND TO START ON TIME AND LOCK THE DOOR IF THERE IS NOBODY TO COVER RECEPTION**
