This mini retreat offers a half a day of compassion-based mindfulness practice and is suitable for complete beginners (all exercises are guided) and for those who wish to refresh or deepen their practice.

It is an opportunity to step out of the auto pilot of our daily lives and tune into the present moment. We are giving ourselves permission to slow down, become the observer of our experience (thoughts, feelings, body sensations) and practise resting in the midst of it – nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing to achieve. We are giving ourselves a break, time to simply be and practise self-care, attending to our human experience (whatever it may be) with kindness and compassion.

We will practise meditation with mindfulness support (breath, sound, physical sensations), connect with our body though gentle mindful movement and walking, reflect on the depleting and nourishing things in our daily lives, practise kindness and self-compassion in the face of difficulty and much more.

Meeting place: Maarten Lutherweg 158, Amstelveen.

Refreshments: Fruit, cookies, water, tea and coffee will be available during the break, but feel free to bring your own drink and snack.

Equipment and clothing: Mats, cushions, chairs and blankets will be available. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your umbrella as we intend to go to a nearby park for mindful movement practice.
