Meditation and Recovery
This is an open 12 Step meeting with meditation, discussion and a focus on 1 step each meeting. Good for beginners and seasoned meditators. We practice meditation and then discuss one of the 12 Steps. Leaders have years of sobriety, and meditation practice. Its a peaceful group, that you can connect with peers, and learn a wonderful way to calm your mind and deepen your awareness of yourself and the world. Before we meditate, we take questions about sitting meditation in general prior to beginning the mediation. After the meditation the chairman or a speaker gives a short 10-15 minute presentation on mindfulness practice and the Step of the month. The last Wednesday of the month may be speaker meeting or chairperson’s choice. The meeting is then opened up for comments and reflections from the group members. We encourage participants to use the sharing time to both share and listen with an open heart, practice mindfulness and compassion for the person sharing. There is no cost for attendance. We do take up a donation at the end to pay for the meeting facility.

What we're about

WE MEET WEDNESDAY EVENINGS, one chapter in a nation-wide community of Twelve Steps and Mindfulness meetings. Our addictions are wide-spread: drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, cigarettes, or codependency. Everyone is welcome. As with many Twelve Step meetings, we are a diverse group of people, yet we are part of the great stream of beings seeking deeper serenity in our lives, grounded in recovery by the Twelve Step program, inspired to awaken and live in the present by the practices of mindfulness meditation.
