6 Mile Quantocks Walk
A six mile walk from Dead Woman's Ditch car park (and if you are driving there direct you will need to use your smartphone to navigate where the pin is on the accompanying Meetup map if you aren't familiar with the location for which a postcode is of no use). Car sharing is an option if you are aware that someone else is coming from the same direction. The route, which offers lovely views, takes in Black Hill, Holford Combe and the site of what was Downsborough Iron Age Hill Fort. Bring a snack to enjoy somewhere along the route and a drink at a local hostelry at the end of the walk is optional. Feel free to bring a friend and drop me a line if you have any questions or any reservations of any description. Participants take part at their own risk although it's not a dangerous walk by any stretch of the imagination. Please arrive early in order to set off at the time stated.

What we're about

This is a group aimed mainly at singles but not exclusively . We are a group for adult members only & we are all about meeting like-minded people who are keen to expand their social network.

We are an informal friendly bunch who organise social events throughout the year that include walks, meals out, gigs, live music, concerts, theatre trips, away days, garden parties, coffee mornings, beach BBQ's, nights out in town, pub quizzes, outdoor activities, cinema trips, craft activities, holidays & the list goes on! If you are looking for a really friendly group of people to hang out with, then look no further.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive group, and are very happy to listen to your suggestions and comments.

Walks and social events will be open to all, but sometimes we do have to limit numbers on a first-come-first-served basis.

NB* IMPORTANT!

DISCLAIMER FOR WALKS AND OTHER OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Everyone taking part in the Group activities does so at their own risk.

We do not employ qualified guides, leaders or first aiders on any of our events. The group works on the same basis of being a group of friends who go out walking together, who invite others to join them on this basis via the Meetup web site. Event organisers and event hosts assume no responsibility for anyone attending any group event. The Group, group organisers, event organisers and event hosts will not be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss occurring as a result of any Group event or in connection with travel to such event, however caused.

When you join a walk or other event, whether or not you have signed up for it on the Meetup site, you indicate that you accept these conditions and accept that no legal liability is accepted by the group, group organisers, event organisers or event hosts in the event of accident or injury, however caused.

Participants in Group events are reminded that outdoor activities frequently need specialist equipment (boots, waterproofs, etc) and the group does not provide these. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk, the safety of themselves and their guests and the suitability of any equipment used.

While accepting no responsibility or liability, for walks and other outdoor events, the event host or walk leader may, at their discretion, not admit you to join the walk or other event if in their opinion you are ill-equipped for the terrain and weather conditions.

Dogs are usually allowed on walks but this is entirely at the discretion of the walk leader- please see the individual Meetup event details or contact the walk leader- dogs must be kept under close control at all times and on a lead where necessary or requested by the walk leader.

2. Whilst we aim to be open to as broad a range of people as possible, we reserve the
right to refuse membership or to ask a member to leave for any valid reason.

Finally, we really look forward to meeting you & have you join our happy group!

Kind regards
