Calling All Techies! Meet Our Sponsor, and How to Eat Better On the Job

  • Dear Minimalist Cooks,

Our sponsor, Jairo from CodeScrum, who has been graciously covering our ongoing monthly Meetup fees, will personally attend our next event!

At the occasion - while, as always, each and every Meetup member is very welcome -, we especially invite our "techies" and tech-interested members of this group to attend and share with us what you're usually eating, how that's going for you, and where you see the future of food. We'll have a short 5-min introduction, followed by a 30-min moderated discussion. We'll then quickly prepare a delicious multi-course dinner from the ingredients that got brought.

    - Please bring 1-2 fresh, organic, unprocessed ingredients.

The Minimalist Cooking magic is in creatively making dishes from a random set of fresh ingredients - which is likely the situation we find ourselves in constantly when looking to eat unprocessed foods on a day-to-day basis. Come experience it and learn how to trust the process :-)

No previous knowledge or cooking skills required. Just bring 1-2 fresh, organic, unprocessed ingredients and we'll decide and learn from each other what to make with it/how to make it. We will then share dinner from what we made.

BYOB - Feel free to bring any drinks that you'd like to have with dinner!

If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know in advance and we will make sure there are suitable dishes for you available.

This Meetup is not about any specific diet - all ingredients and anyone on any diet is welcome.

Check out descriptions and some pics of what we made at previous Meetups here:

Please remember to adjust your RSVP should your plans change. I will also send a reminder email 2-3 days before the event.

Any questions, wishes, comments, feedback: Please get in touch!

We look forward to meeting/seeing everyone!

    Hello everyone,
I am a retired guy with a house in rural Central Valley and boat in Marina Village Yacht Harbor.
My place in the valley has a large veggie garden and I will pick and bring to the events from there. Currently I am over loaded with Romaine lettuce, one guy can only eat so much romaine, a packet of seeds goes a long way. In another month I'll have broccoli , brussel sprouts and cauliflower. My only preventative to insects has been castille soap also called insecticidal soap.
I am at my boat most weekends and that's when minimalist cooking really takes over.

Hi Michael, that's terrific, so glad you found us! Several of our events have been in Alameda not far from the Marina, so it'll be really easy for you to join. We've had a bunch of people from the boating community come in over time since Minimalist Cooking is really useful on boats, and we've had one Meetup on a boat as well last summer! Sure can't wait to try the fresh foods from your garden. Thank you for joining and I look forward to meeting you!
