Pick another Book!

Greetings: The book club got off to a bit of a rocky start, but I hope things will settle down now. I didn't have time to organize anything for February, so our next meeting will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 7-9 pm. (Wednesday was already booked.) I have set up a poll at our meetup site to select our next book. You may vote for more than one. The runner up will be the book for April. Candidates (more info can be found at are:

Pick a book to read

Greetings: I would like to organize a Minneapolis Skeptics Book Club. We would meet once a month, tentatively the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6pm at Common Roots Cafe, 2558 Lyndale Av. S., Minneapolis. The Books will be selected by majority vote from books proposed by the participants. It would, of course, be best if you read the book before attending. To start things off, I have proposed the 6 books below. Detailed info about them may be found at The first date is set for 26 Jan 2011. Now is the chance to read those books you know you should. Hey kids, I'd like to get some feedback regarding Drinking Skeptically.

The good news is Minneapolis Skeptics just keeps getting bigger & bigger! Yay!! And our Drinking Skeptically Meetup has become hugely popular due to our awesome powers of skeptitude. (& booze) The bad news is we're getting a little crowded at BeWiched and it's very noisy and therefore not really amenable to discussion (or things like sitting for that matter). Plus I can see it's not comfortable at all for new people. Poor newbies, I feel your pain. So what do we do? Hell if I know. Oh wait, guess that's my job. Ok I thought I'd take a poll just to kind of gauge where everybody's at. You can select multiple choices. You may not write in your own snarky comments (Craig!). But if you have something to add, I welcome your ideas. Thank you all very much for your participation. :) -Melissa Lee

What is your favorite skeptical topic?

I'm curious about your interest in skepticism. Please let me know what top interests you the most. It can be a topic that you have great knowledge of or a topic you want to learn more about.
