Calling all night owls!!
Please join ARC activists as we inform Justin Timberlake concert goers to ditch the wool and choose a cruelty-free jacket for the winter. Leafleting events are super easy, and there will be a leader there for anyone new who wants to try it for the first time! We will be passing out leaflets as the concert gets out, and it shouldn't take us longer than half an hour.
Some facts about wool production:
* Buying wool directly supports cruel practices such as mulesing, castration, tail-docking, and ear-punching. Meanwhile, industrial wool farming is energy-inefficient, land- and water-intensive, and highly pollutive.
* Wool production is an industry. Like any other branch of animal agriculture, it thrives by commodifying animals and objectifying them as resources for human consumption. It converts sentient creatures into units of production, thereby consigning them to brief lives of neglect, abuse, and captivity in the service of increased profit margins.
* Like many other mammals, sheep do not produce as much fur when they get older. When the sheep are no longer profitable as wool producers, they get shipped off to slaughter.
We will meet outside of the main entrance with the steps right near the parking ramp at the Xcel Energy Center. Let me know if you have questions about where we are meeting.
