Newbie Night XI - December 17, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Java Train, St. Paul

For those who have just joined the Minnesota Atheists Meetup, and for those who have not yet had a chance to meet their fellow nonbelievers, we are proud to announce Newbie Night XI.

Newbie Nights are specifically designed for those who've never attended an MNA Meetup before or haven't had much opportunity to interact with other MNA Meetup members. It can be intimidating to be the only person in the room who doesn't know anybody else, so here's an event where EVERYONE has come to meet like-minded people they've never met before. Three small group discussions with conversation topics provided will give you a chance to meet lots of new, like-minded people. We've reserved the meeting room at Java Train until 8:30 p.m. Street parking is available, but you may have to walk a block.

Java Train doesn't charge us to reserve the space because we're a nonprofit organization, but we should reward their kindness by purchasing a beverage, snack, or meal. They have a full menu, featuring dinners, soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts (including ice cream).

Since Newbie Nights are in high demand, we're not allowing "maybe" RSVPs. We've reserved for 23, so if you are interested and will go, please RSVP. Keep your RSVP updated if your plans change, so another Newbie can take your place!

Thanks for Jack for giving so much of his time to organizing and attending things with this group! Great group of people with interesting and varied backgrounds and I enjoyed meeting everyone.

Lots of good discussion. It is interesting to find out how people arrived at atheism. Thanks to the moderator for his organization and preparedness.

For future meetings at Java Train, I would mention it is not (apparently) handicap accessible.

Those who didn't make it missed a great evening. Hope you can make it to the next one, but if you RSVP and your plans change, please update your status so those on the waiting list can get in.

I enjoyed the opportunity to meet other rational thinkers. I look forward to forming friendship and continued fellowship with others who share my hopes for a secular future.

I was surprised on how how much I enjoyed newbie night. I was very nervous about attending, but felt at ease immediately. I enjoyed meeting new people who share the same beliefs. I thought Jack did a great job of hosting the evening. I look forward to attending more events.

Good times, met a lot of really nice godless heathens. I look forward to the next newbie night.
