Flying Spaghetti Monster Picnic, May 30, 4:30 p.m., Roseville

As the Flying Spaghetti Monster commands, Minnesota Atheists gather for spaghetti, salads, and dessert on the fifth Sunday, whenever the calendar offers one.

Come bring yourself and only $6.66 for all you can eat delights. Food will be ready around 4:30, but you can come early to help out.

There's playground equipment nearby for the kids, and all ages can burn off the carbs with a game of frisbee, bocce ball, badminton, or a stroll around the lake.

If you have never met other atheists, this is a great event for new people. While there may be a big crowd, there will be plenty of us mingling and introducing ourselves.

For the low minimum donation of $6.66, you can eat all the spaghetti, salads, bread and dessert you desire. Kids under 12 years of age eat free, and donations over $6.66 are welcome (cash and checks only). Feel free to bring sauces to share, but we do request that you provide a crock pot to keep the sauce hot. You can also bring desserts, salads, and beverages (non-alcoholic). If you're planning to contribute, please include what you plan to bring in your RSVP.

This event will be held at Lions Park in Roseville. There is a play field nearby, as well as trails and geocaches galore. As with our other fundraisers, there will likely be giveaways and prizes. This event is a great mixer for first-timers. For more information on the park, visit:

Hope to see you there!

We had about 45 attendees. Great time, even though it looked like rain all day. Thanks to all who brought food items. The talented cooks are the highlight of this event.

I always enjoy myself at FSM picnics. The food was plentiful and I enjoyed talking to the usual suspects and met some new people. Loved the location too.

It was fun. Only wished I had more time to talk to more people. The setting was great and would have served us well even with rain. Bob Schmitz

Even though the weather was not looking so good, I think all of us had a really good time.

The food was really yummy and we had a great bunch of ATheists to communicate with and I would not have missed it.
