Freethought Picnic for All Ages - June 13, noon, Columbia Park, Mpls

  • Jun 13, 2010 · 12:00 PM
  • Columbia Park

This is the first of three summer picnics for all of us atheists and humanists (sponsored by College Atheists, Skeptics and Humanists of the U of M). There's a great playground for kids, a basketball hoop, fields for ultimate frisbee, soccer, bocce ball and other games, and a picnic area for dining, board games, and lots of conversation!

The picnic is a potluck. Please bring some edibles to share. The shelter has electricity and a sink.

Families: in your RSVP, please mention the ages and genders of your children

Athletes (all levels): please tell us what sport you prefer so we can get a game going

Board gamers: please let us know what games you enjoy and any you can bring

Musicians: please mention which musical instrument you plan to bring for an impromptu jam

COLUMBIA PARK is located in northeast Minneapolis.
► Take Central Ave NE (MN Hwy. 65) to Columbia Pkwy. (Between 36th Ave. and 37th Ave.)
► Turn west onto Columbia Pkwy.
► Proceed along Columbia Pkwy. (0.35 miles).
► After you go under the railroad bridge, you will see the park on your left.
► Take the first left onto the service road (you will see a sign for “800 Columbia Blvd.”). Proceed to the second parking lot on your left (0.2 miles). (You should see us by the shelter on the hill!)

See you on Sunday, June 13th!

This was a great event. My wife and I were in town for the weekend and we're glad we could stop by. Food was excellent! Thanks again and we hope we can catch another one! Jason and Lilie Schoenack, Red River Freethinkers, Fargo, ND www.redriverfreethinkers.org
