Little Canada Book Club - "The Red Queen" by Matt Ridley

For our July meeting we will be discussing the book "The Red Queen" by Matt Ridley. From Amazon Product Description:
Referring to Lewis Carroll's Red Queen from Through the Looking-Glass, a character who has to keep running to stay in the same place, Matt Ridley demonstrates why sex is humanity's best strategy for outwitting its constantly mutating internal predators. The Red Queen answers dozens of other riddles of human nature and culture -- including why men propose marriage, the method behind our maddening notions of beauty, and the disquieting fact that a woman is more likely to conceive a child by an adulterous lover than by her husband. Brilliantly written, The Red Queen offers an extraordinary new way of interpreting the human condition and how it has evolved. In August we will be reading "SuperSense" by Bruce M. Hood.
For September we are considering reading something about climate change, so if you have any suggestions for a book on that topic please bring them to our July meeting. We are also considering a work of fiction for a future meeting, so suggestions in that area would be welcome as well. Due to the limited space available in the meeting room, "maybe" RSVPs will not be allowed. Please be sure to update your RSVP if your plans change.

Great, as usual. Hope I didn't monopolize too much.
