Reel and Meal - Inception, July 17, AMC Rosedale 14, 2:15 p.m.

The movie starts at 2:40, so we'll go in as a group by 2:30.

"In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a single idea within one's mind can be the most dangerous weapon or the most valuable asset."

The website: http://inceptionmovie...

From the director of Memento, The Prestige, and a couple of movies about a guy who dresses like a bat, comes a science fiction/mystery/thriller that's garnering critical raves. For instance:

"If movies are shared dreams, then Christopher Nolan is surely one of Hollywood's most inventive dreamers, given the evidence of his commandingly clever inception."
-Variety

"A devilishly complicated, fiendishly enjoyable sci-fi voyage across a dreamscape that is thoroughly compelling."
-Hollywood Reporter

The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Caine, Tom Berenger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Cillian Murphy.

Join us in the lobby of the Rosedale 14 Theatres. We'll go to Davanni's after the show for pizza, hoagies and conversation. Should be there at 5:15 or so. In case you want to Mapquest the location of the restaurant, the address is 1905 W Perimeter Drive, Roseville, MN 55113.

Hope to see you there!

It was great of Jack to reserve a room afterward at Davanni's for us to sit in a circle of tables and have a discussion about the movie. Jack is also a good discussion leader. And Davanni's was a good choice with good food. :)

a reoccurring dream I have since my earliest dream memories is weird enough to mention. All it is, is a gray bar against white nothingness. It blinks far off into the distance, then moves closer, and then is so close that it's actually feels like it's warm and smothering (in a non threatening way though) and it just blinks in at different distances. About 2 months ago, it reappeared. It's so weird, because it just seems like a gauge for distance

I also have a lot of dreams where I can fly. When I was a child I remember dreaming once that I flew past the Earth's atmosphere into outer space and explored other galaxies. It was probably after I watched Superman. But now as an adult when I fly in my dreams I am weighed down by gravity and can't fly as freely or as far. It seems I am more limited in my flying abilities. The coolest part of Inception I think is when Ellen Page's character can remake the dream. :)

I'm pretty sure I dream in color every time. Also, I wish I could have more lucid dreams. I remember once when I was lucid dreaming. I was having a nightmare. Then I somehow realized it was a dream and was able to change it. I think I was being chased by something, and I was trapped. So I was able to destroy the walls that blocked me and stop the monster from chasing me. It was like that moment in the Matrix when Neo became "The One" and said "No" at the end and stopped the Agents. :)

Sorry I missed you guys; I was unaware of the 94 and I-34 roads being worked on and was stuck in traffic for an hour.

I did still see the movie, though.

A well-made, thought-provoking film, and good conversation afterwards. Remember: don't think about elephants.

Was the time of the Davanni's meeting decided yet? If not, I'd prefer a dinner there.

Hey, Brian. Sorry to hear about your job. I hope you'll be able to make it to some of the free or cheap events we have coming up. Hanging out with your heathen brethren will make you feel better.

Jack and MNA, I just found out my job is ending in a week. So I simply can't afford to spend any money on movies or eating out right now. I wish I could go--it would be fun! My priority is finding another job right now though. It sucks I can't be more involved in MNA right now. Also, this is a good location too since I live in Stillwater, and Roseville is not too far away. So I hope you do more events like this, and I hope I can make it to the next one! :) Brian

This looks like the best movie of the summer. It'll be worth getting out of the heat for a couple of hours, and we can sit outside at Davanni's. C'mon!
