The movie starts at 1:15 p.m., so we'll meet in the lobby at 1:00.
The movie adaptation of the 1985 Hugo and Nebula-award winning novel Ender's Game hits the big screen at last. If you haven't read the book or seen the trailers, here's the one-sentence synopsis: "70 years after a horrific alien war, an unusually gifted child is sent to an advanced military school in space to prepare for a future invasion." So much for the novel's surprise ending, but early reviews are reporting that the movie is more thought-provoking than the average science fiction film. How about we see for ourselves? The cast includes Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley, with Asa Butterfield (star of the movie Hugo) as Ender Wiggin.
Join us at the St. Anthony Main Theater on the Minneapolis riverfront this Saturday for an interstellar good time. Our plan is to be in the lobby by 1 p.m. for the 1:15 p.m. show. You can usually find free street parking if you're willing to walk a couple of blocks—park behind the theater and look for meters that aren't enforced on weekends. If you get there late there's always the parking ramp. Here's the website:
Afterwards those of us who have worked up an appetite will head over to Rusty Taco (522 East Hennepin Avenue), just a short trek away. We should be there by 3:30 or so. For more taco info:
Here's hoping there's space on your schedule!
