British TV Commercial Awards at the Walker, Sat., Dec. 21, 7:30 p.m., Mpls

Please note: the screening will be at the McGuire Theater, located in the Walker complex. We will meet by the box office (for those of us who will need to pick up our tickets at will call) and go to the theater together. Tickets are general admission, so we'll be able to sit together.

This holiday season the Walker carries on the 25-year tradition as host of the ever-popular British Arrows Awards—an eclectic mix of riveting mini-dramas, outrageous wit, and awe-inspiring innovation. From high-tech extravaganzas to down-and-dirty comedy, this celebration of commercial creativity brings people back year after year. Tickets go fast, so get yours now. The cost is $12 ($10 for Walker members, students, and seniors). Call the box office at[masked] or order online:

For more information about the program:

The show is roughly an hour in length. Those of us who are in the mood for a pint or a pizza afterwards will head over to Green Mill Restaurant, a short drive away at 2626 Hennepin Avenue. Please mention if you're joining us in your RSVP so we'll know how large a table to reserve. For a map and more information:

For 25 years the Arrows Awards show has never failed to amuse and entertain, so if you've never gone, this is an excellent chance to see it with your freethinking friends. If American commercials were this good, we might never use the mute buttons on our TV remotes.

I have an extra ticket....if someone wants to go and doesn't yet have one. Cost: $14.50 (because of the online purchase fee).

Jo, I'll take that extra ticket if you still have it. I'll also be going out for pizza with y'all after the show.

That old joke about the recently deceased atheist whose tombstone read, "Here lies an atheist, all dressed up and no place to go." I do miss getting together as a community to celebrate the awesomeness of life but without the guilt and bullsh&$. Do like your radio show-a bit raw but "right on."Greg...
