Re: [atheists-493] Minnesota Atheists Book Club

Rick,

Thanks for the suggestions.  Anyone is open to do any of those things on the message board, or forum.  We'll be having meetings in a few months to talk about what kind of stuff we want to focus on for the website, and the organization in general.  I'll bring up your suggestions and maybe something will come of them.  If anyone else has any crazy/strange/helpful ideas, email me at [address removed]!

Regardless if we can hook up online or not, your members may grow if
there's more for us to contribute and stuff: online. Follow there speed racer?
Phone interviews for the radio show....
An online book review and discussion perhaps....no, none of that IM tween stuff either.
How about a Rate an Adult Beverage night? Whereby the participants can take a pic
of themselves enjoying their favorite adult beverage and the rest of members could
rate it on how difficult it's to make, size, shape, color, texture, fanciness, cleverness, etc.
How about holding a contest searching for the next Athiest slogan for a commuter
bus campaign? I already sent you 400 slogans, so I won't participate.
How about we take a score from 1-50 pts and rate the most closed-minded
religions out there (and why) and post the results in the next newsletter or something.
How about this: Take a survey or point system of the most outrageous/contradictory
holibook passage and the winner will be placed on the website and newsletter with
the runner-ups below it.
How about we post a monthly "A question for a believer" section?
For example. The question of the month will be:
If Cain and Abel were both men, and one killed the other, how did I get here?
We could ask a local believer and see what they say and preface the
question by saying "g*d said so and I don't know" don't count as answers.
How about post an Athiest quote of the month; they're all over the internet
How about we report in to the newsletter or radio show other forums
that spoke about religion on one hand and the Atheist viewpoint wasn't heard?
And expose the hypocricy for what it's worth.
How about a monthly expose' of a story from the bible that couldn't possibly
make sense. Jonah and the wale for instance. Talking giants, "four corners
of the Earth". Exposing the stories for what they are: stories, nothing more.
How about we cover above "stories" and combine it with "ask the believer"?
See what they say? And post their comments and try not to laugh....
Just some ideas that's all......
And now a word from our sponsors....
