Announcing a new Meetup for Minnesota Atheists Meetup Group!

What: How to Debate - Sat Feb 7 1 PM - Ridgedale Library

When: February 7,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Debate is one of the most useful skills to learn. Whether you engage in formal debates, or you are just talking among friends or coworkers, the skills learned from debate are valuable. More importantly, by using debate techniques, you will be able to engage those even at the most opposite of your point of view and respectfully communicate your position. As a group, we will discuss debate techniques you have used successfully and which have not worked so well.

Grant Steves will be leading the discussion. He has experience teaching debate to high school students. He finds the "Devil's Advocate" position of an argument to be most exciting.

We will be focusing on how to debate from the atheist perspective, specifically, however, we will also be examining the arguments made by the religious.

You do not need to be a skilled debater to take part in this class.

This event is free and open to the public. However, the space is limited, and RSVP's will be required.
