Re: [mnatheists] A Note Regarding Samuel

I'm not particularly interested in what this crackpot has to say, but I would really enjoy being a part of an ongoing email chain conversation.

Regarding Matthew's comment "we (atheists) like to know what non-atheists are saying to and about us."  I'm an atheist, but I have to object on behalf of non-theists.  This Samuel weirdo is just a, well... weirdo, and he doesn't represent non-theists any more than that guy who did the Virginia Tech massacre represented atheists, even though he professed atheism.

Thank you Glenn Beard, I like your comment.  Like you, I'm not keen to close the comments about this matter. Most of us are atheists and we like to know what non-atheists are saying to and about us.

Comrades,

Isn't it curious how many of us had no idea each other was there,
how large the distribution list might be, and how interested in each
other's comments we might be before an event like this kicked it off?

I'm not keen to close the comments about this either... while not
everyone may be interested, surely they can set up a filter to put
this thread into a separate directory (folder).
Perhaps we've stumbled upon a very untapped sounding board
for opinion which we can respect here.

Happy solstice in advance, everyone.

All,
Would starting a thread to discuss this on the message board on the Meetup site be alright?  The only reason I don't want this thread to continue is because every time  someone replies it goes to all 627 members.  I had no intention of closing this issue, as I stated I was open to answering any questions.  If the message is satisfactory I can start a discussion when I get home.
 I'm open to any suggestion.

Unilaterally proclaiming the discussion closed --- without any

discontinuing, that could be elaborated. Otherwise, If people want
to talk I don't see why we shouldn't let them, however silly the

And while I'm glad the Meetup posting issue has been resolved to
the satisfaction of those in charge, I still don't feel prepared
to address a potentially volatile situation should Samuel or
someone like him make a live appearance. I've appended the email I
received from Samuel in which he threatens (okay, let's say
/promises) /to show up at the Burnsville Davanni's meeting. I
appreciate the suggestion to take photos, but no one has told me
whether there is any sort of policy for how to respond
should someone show up at a Meetup in an attempt to be disruptive
or worse. I'm ostensibly in charge of the Burnsville book club
gathering and I would appreciate some support on this issue, even
if it is just to be informed that nobody really knows how to deal
   with this sort of thing.

The dirty, grimy bastards...I'll get it back!

But there is hope, there is life in my lifeless form.
He takes the form, he rises the form of JESUS CHRIST.

   THAT'S RIGHT--THAT'S SO VERY RIGHT.

I'M GONNA BE THERE AT DAVANNI'S..ORDERING A SLICE OF SALVATION.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL GOD FEARERS THERE.

But in the mean time...revel in the fact you'll burn in Hell one day.

GOD BE WITH YOUR SOULLESS SOULS.

   Peace,

       All,
I have contacted the Meetup Administration. The issue is being
dealt with, and I have been counseled on how to deal with
further issues, should they arise.  Please do not respond to
this email any further.  If you have additional questions or
concerns please don't hesitate to contact me directly at
