CUBA TRIP: 7 Day Option

  • We are working with our friends from www.circletheworld.comfor this very special group trip opportunity to Cuba. They have brought groups to Cuba many times and are considered one of the foremost travel groups from many of our members who have used them for other trips.   You have the option to join the group for 4 days or 7 days.  Below is the itinerary and info for the 7 day trip.  Payment information is below. You will need to arrange your own transportation from NYC area to Miami the night before our charter flight. 


    Wed: Dec 7 Arrival Miami Hotel

    Arrive to Miami and transfer to Airport Hotel to meet group and trip leader.  It is suggested to arrive anytime from 6-11pm.

    Thursday, Dec 8: Havanna Arrival & Classic Convertible Sunset Drive 

    In the early morning we will transfer to Miami Airport for our Havana charter flight and check in as a group.  Upon arrival in Havana, we'll drive half an hour to our conveniently located hotel.  We'll absorb our first impression of the tropical air, rhythm and color wafting out of the doorways we pass, laughter and conversation bouncing amongst neighbors easily, meeting local people along the way. In the evening, we'll experience a special Classic Convertible car ride by sunset in Old Havana

    Friday, Dec 9: Havana Old Town & Jazz Concert

    After breakfast we begin our day with a talk on the history of the city’s restoration and fascinating past as told to us by an expert architect and city planner. We learn about the restoration which is necessary to provide housing for local inhabitants. Lunch will be O’ Reilly 304  (rated #1 on Tripadvisor). After lunch we will visit Taller de La Grafica and meet Cuban painters at their collective.Street music and dancing celebrate the Cuban heritage of the people here. The feeling of cooperation and ingenuity are palpable and many of the people you will meet will surprise you with their multitude of talents, which they have had to develop to survive in a society lacking basic resources. In the evening, we'll view a private jazz concert by world renowned Cuban musicians!

    Tonight we'll have dinner at a chosen Paladare (price not included).  A paladar is a small family run restaurant licensed to provide meals in their homes.  Here, you will taste some of the best food in Cuba as well as a experience being in the intimate, warm, and real spaces of local people.  A trip to Cuba wouldn't be complete without trying one of the many Paladares.

    Saturday, Dec 10: Local Cuban Art & Dance
    Today we'll get up close and personal and visit the private home studio of world renowned artists Juan Moreira and Alicia Leal and see their exhibits as well as a very interesting modern art exhibit by a young up and coming artist.After lunch at Paladar Juana La Cubana, enjoy a children’s rueda dance performance with Cuba’s top children’s dance group.  This group will amaze your with their talent!  How well can you dance?  In the evening we'll take a Cuban salsa dance class with amazing Cuban dancers.

    Sunday, Dec 11: Cienfuegos to Trinidad
    If you are doing the extension, after breakfast we'll visit Jose Fuster’s art galleries and community project and enjoy lunch at Sloppy Joe’s Bar before departing for Trinidad.  On our way, we'll stop in the small town of Cienfuegos, the birthplace of Cuba’s legendary singer Benny More, for quick walk and photo opportunity.  Once we arrive in Trinidad, a city that just celebrated 500 years and check in.  In the afternoon/evening we'll view a live outdoor salsa band and dancers at Casa de La Musica.

    Monday Dec 12: Discover Trinidad & Beaches
    In the morning we'll get a in-depth walking tour of Trinidad from a local Cuban expert.

    We will also visit the beaches of Trinadad during the day.  In the evening, we'll take a horse-drawn carriage ride though the cobblestone streets of Trinidad,marvel at Trinidad’s beautiful traditional live music at the Casa de La Trova.

    Tuesday, Dec 13: Scenic Trinadad & Havana
    In the morning, we'll take a trip to scenic areas just outside Trinadad to see waterfalls and beautiful scenery.  In the afternoon enjoy a visit to one of the last remaining Sugar Baron houses.  We'll depart for Havana in the mid afternoon.

    Wednesday Dec 14: Havana & Miami
    Depending on airport time, we will stop at a local market.  Our charter flight will depart early afternoon, arriving in Miami in mid afternoon.  Note: Your return flight must be later than 5pm.
