Would you describe the work you do more as engineering, craft, science, or art?

Engineering - good, fast, cheap, you can only pick two.

Do you have any suggestions for software topics you would like to discuss with this group?

MySpace templates for fun and profit. See, that's why you don't let the new guy make suggestions. Seriously though, mobile development, QA testing, and database architecture, and data visualization.

What do you see as the most exciting or interesting trend in software? Why?

The overwhelmingly abundant number of smartphone based wilderness/adventure apps that rely on dedicated network access. I find SAAS interesting, the programming methodologies and developer motives even more so.

I've been lurking around the Twin Cities Tech scene for a while and I've finally committed to participating more.
