Details

The “fall season” of Meetups continues with Matt Braun from Magnate Interactive, Ltd. Please RSVP so we’ll know how much food to order.

Matt, joining us from Toledo, is one of those devs that has been extraordinarily successful in one of the noisiest, most attention-competitive environments in global business – the Apple App Store.

Matt will share some of his experience and insights on what works and what doesn’t in creating and promoting apps. Following the success of SketchParty TV (an Apple TV game that people actually downloaded, played, and enjoyed in large numbers!), Matt came out with Waypoint EDU, an educational geocaching game with an AR twist. Waypoint EDU has been written up in the press numerous times and has a devoted following because it’s fun and educational.

This is a chance to hear from someone that has found the combination for success (as well as a few failures…) more than once. Bring your questions.

About the Speaker:

With his SketchParty TV – an Apple TV party game – and Waypoint EDU – an educational AR scavenger hunt – Matt has been featured not once, but twice in Apple WWDC Keynotes. He’s an in-demand part-time indie game dev/designer and full-time consultant on mobile apps for large and mid-sized companies, and sometimes for startups. He’s developed for just about every mobile product in the Apple eco-system.

New Location:

We have a new location: Arbormoon Software has moved and has a bigger, better Meetup space with not double, but triple the ceiling height! Yay! It’s just a few blocks from the old space at: 120 E. Huron, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104

Agenda:

6:30 - 7:00: Food and Networking
7:00 - 8:00: Introductions followed by Matt Braun’s talk with Q&A at the end.
8:00 - 8:30: Networking

October 1: “Whys and Hows of Mobile Ads” with Darrell Jackson, from Jac Advertising Consultants (more in the Meetup announcement)

November 5: “How Does “Mobile” Fit in to the Duo Security Story?” with Patrick Garrity, Director of Product Marketing at Duo Security. (more in the Meetup announcement)

Please contact us if you’re interested in speaking and have a good mobile topic or are interested in sponsoring a meeting. We’d be glad to hear from you.
