These digital technologies are praised for being accessible, tailored and cost-effective, but what are the implications of using them, and what is to come?

Join us to discuss lessons learned, opportunities and risks from clinical, ethical and technological perspectives.

We’ll explore:
- What can and can’t digital technology do for mental healthcare?
- What long-term impact might tech have on mental healthcare?

Emma Selby - Clinical Nurse Specialist at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust who runs her own SME creating healthcare apps for mental health and working with app providers to increase access (

Cat Turner - Co-founder of Cult and co-creator of the first voice-based anxiety app Mindscape ( Mindscape combines AI, voice technology and sound therapy and works on Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Elvira Perez Vallejos - Dr Elvira Perez Vallejos is an Associate Professor at NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre for Mental Health and Digital Technologies. She is interested on the ethical challenges embedded in digital solutions for mental health including the widespread use of machine learning/AI methods. She has experience on Responsible Research and Innovation, Data Ethics as well as on Data Privacy, Online Consent, Co-Production, User-centric design, Creative Practices for Recovery, Experimental Psychology, and Participatory Research with Children and Young People, and Older Adults.(
