We had a great turn-out at our kick-off meeting on September 9. Please join us for the second Mobile Monday Phoenix Event, November 4, 2013. We will provide beverages.

About our Speakers:

Guest Speaker: Jiva DeVoe is an author (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0470481072?ie=UTF8&tag=randidea01-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0470481072), blogger (http://blog.random-ideas.net/), and software developer (http://www.random-ideas.net/) with nearly 20 years of experience in the software industry. His first computer was a Commodore VIC-20, on which he learned BASIC and assembly language. From there, he gradually worked his way through C, C++, Python, Ruby, Java, and finally Objective-C.

Over the years, he’s shown himself to be a proven innovator by always being on the bleeding edge of diverse new technologies. In the early 90s, he worked as a founding member, and lead developer for the Diaspar Network, an early virtual community which pioneered online commerce. Later, he worked in mobile application development on early wireless handheld computers, and was co-inventor of dynamic route selection software designed to be used by Tier 1 Internet bandwidth providers.

Today, he works primarily with Objective-C, Cocoa and Cocoa Touch, developing applications for the iPhone and Mac OS X.

Guest Speaker: Joe Hoffman is currently Research Director, Mobile Networks, at ABI Research, and brings practical realism from years of experience in development engineering, product management and strategic marketing at major telecom equipment manufacturers. His greatest enthusiasm is discovering what the future holds and how the telecom industry will transform into high performing WebScale firms.

Joe gained his extensive experience at firms such as IBM, Lockheed-Martin, Motorola, and Nokia Solutions and Networks. His experience was gained in diverse industries from office products to space products, and ASIC design to network design.

Joe holds a B.S.E.E. from the University of Kentucky, M.S.S.E. from Virginia Tech, and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University.
