Mobile Payments Hackathon

The goal of the Mobile Payments Hackathon is to encourage the development of mobile payments technology and provide developers with the tools and inspiration they need to build awesome products that improve the payments industry.

The Hackathon brings together designers and developers to build new products and leverage new mobile payment technology. Example applications include offline ticketing apps, uber-like models for home services and donations apps.

The CardFlight SDK, and Stripe API will be provided during the Hackathon to help you build product. Attendees will spend a full day coding, completing their ideas and networking, and then will present their demo apps to a panel of mobile payment experts, including VC’s, executives and entrepreneurs. There will be food and drink provided.

This event requires registration at http://mobilepaymentshackathon.com/

For those of us who couldn't make it to the hackathon yesterday, is there a list of the apps developed posted somewhere? Or maybe we can feature them here?

Hi, I'm interested in mobile money. As a public policy student Columbia, I've studied the topic, but don't have a strong coding background. Do you think I would be a value add to the hackathon?

The hackathon is directed at developers within the mobile development space and the whole day will be focused on developing/coding an application to present, as part of a team. However if you think you could add value to a team on the day, and help code, feel free to grab a ticket.

Any potential value in a Data Science guy for this? Seems like it's mostly web app and design.

Hi Patrick, thanks for reaching out! The hackathon is actually based around mobile payments technology, rather then web. Feel free to be apart of if it is something you are interested in

Yeah, sorry, just typed 'web app' there. It's definitely a space I'm interested in, but this would probably be valuable just for networking purposes. Plus I hold office hours for the Data Science class I'm TA'ing at GA on Saturdays.
