January's Discussion "Dashing Through the Snow" by Mary and Carol Higgins Clark.

In the picturesque village of Branscombe, New Hampshire, the townsfolk are all pitching in to prepare for the first (and many hope annual) Festival of Joy. The night before the festival begins, a group of employees at the local market learn that they have won $160 million in the lottery. One of their co-workers, Duncan, decided at the last minute, on the advice of a pair of crooks masquerading as financial advisers, not to play. Then he goes missing. A second winning lottery ticket was purchased in the next town, but the winner hasn’t come forward. Could Duncan have secretly bought it?

The Clarks’ endearing heroes — Alvirah Meehan, the amateur sleuth, and private investigator Regan Reilly — have arrived in Branscombe for the festival. They are just the people to find out what is amiss. As they dig beneath the surface, they find that life in Branscombe is not as tranquil as it appears. So much for an old-fashioned weekend in the country. This fast-paced holiday caper will keep you dashing through the pages!

It was good. I bought some magnets with my mocha dollars, had a funny discussion about the book, had a great smoothie, and talked about future endeavors. Was there 2 hrs

Hi Jawanna. I'm in Alsip so not that far away. I'm sure I passed Paradise Smoothie a couple of times today but just couldn't seem to locate it. I guess everything happens for a reason. Maybe I wasn't supposed to be their today? Who knows, but thanks for the offer to help me with directions next time as I would still like to attend future meet ups with this group. :-)

Sorry but I couldn't find the place. Drove up and down US-30/Lincoln Hwy for at least 45 minutes and found every restaurant and retail store known to man BUT Paradise Smoothie. Thanks anyway. I hope the discussion went well. I actually enjoyed the book as I like cozy mysteries.

Hi ladies. I'm sorry but I'm having difficulty finding the meetup location. Been driving around in circles for about 30 minutes. There are no signs for Paradise Smoothie on US-30. If I can't find it in the next 15 minutes I'm afraid I'll be going back home. Could someone call my cell phone at[masked] to help? Thanks and sorry but I'm obviously directionally challenged. :-(

I really wasn't feeling this book. Too lighthearted for me, but Woah, is there a twist that I did not see coming.
